  • Chapter 2: Licenses

    Openpath subscriptions are sold under a license-based model. We've provided some information on how Openpath licenses work below. Please review then click "Next" to complete the quiz.

  • What is the difference between Revenue-Share and Channel/Direct Billing?

  • With Revenue Share, the end-customer pays Openpath and you get a share of the revenue generated from each of the customers you bring on. This is perfect for those who don't want to worry about or don't have the resources to staff their own Finance and Support teams.

    With Channel/Direct Billing, the end-customer pays you and we bill you for your end-customers' subscriptions. This option gives you a wider latitude on how you can sell and price your Openpath installations. However, you will need to have the bandwidth and resources to manage and maintain your customers' accounts, provide support, and perform accounting responsibilities.

    Note: If your company is based outside the US, we currently only offer the Channel/Direct Billing mode for non-US partners. Please make sure to select that option when completing the reseller agreement.

  • Since end-customers do not have access to their subscription information and pricing, the Channel partner must purchase the license for their customer ahead of time from the Openpath Store using the instructions below. 


    How to purchase license packs: (Channel)

    • Go to https://control.openpath.com/login and log in
    • Navigate to the Openpath Store
      • Openpath partners with Admin permissions can access the store through Partner Center > Store Access

    • From the Item Class dropdown, select License
    • From the Organization dropdown, select the account for which you are purchasing software licenses
      • If you don’t see the account listed, you must first create the customer account in the Control Center.
    • Select a License Term from the dropdown
      • This option will be grayed out if you’ve previously purchased license packs
    • Click Submit
    • Select the license packs you’d like to purchase, add them to your cart, then proceed to check out
      • You must add at least one entry license pack to your cart before you can view/select other license types, including add-on features and integration licenses
      • You cannot have hardware in your cart when purchasing licenses, otherwise it will not let you checkout. Hardware and software must be purchased separately
    • At checkout, you may pay with a credit or debit card or via a purchase order
  • New accounts will purchase software license packs through the Openpath Store via the Administration page in the Openpath Control Center. Note: Partners can only purchase licenses on behalf of the end-customer if they have been added to and are logged in as a local user.


    How to purchase license packs: (Rev-Share)

    • Once you've created the organization where you'll be installing in, add yourself as an admin on that account via namespace
    • Once you're an admin user on that account, log in and go to Administration > Account
    • In Account, go to the Purchasing section and click the "Go to Store" button

    In case you didn't know, the Openpath Enablement program offers implementation and onboarding options available for you to resell to your new accounts. We also offer dedicated 1:1 assistance for technician installations with this program. 

    This program offers the opportunity for administrators, technicians, or end-users to participate in sessions that are tailored to their specific needs. This allows new admins to become instant experts in managing the OpenPath system, reducing the chance of user error and increasing the overall value that an organization gets out of the system. We can even record the session for future training reference!

    Enablement Assist:

    • 1:1 hardware installation walk through with a dedicated OpenPath Tech Support agent. Great for new technicians or subcontracted installers.

    Concierge Onboarding:

    • 30hr Enablement package for full onboarding experience. This includes up to 30hrs of the other options listed here at a discounted rate. Great for complex organizations with large numbers of entries, users, schedules, or security levels.
